Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC) is a Dutch university medical centre for research, education and patient care with a high-quality profile and a strong scientific orientation. It has a unique research practice, ranging from pure fundamental medical research to applied clinical research. Researchers at LUMC work together around 7 medical research profiles: Vascular and Regenerative Medicine; Immunity, Infection and Tolerance; Translational Neuroscience; Cancer Pathogenesis and Therapy; Ageing; Innovation in Health Strategy and Quality of Care; and Biomedical Imaging.

Within AutoCRAT, LUMC will work on a number of different aspects of the Project, including discovery and validation of novel regenerative cell therapeutics (which LUMC will lead) and testing, and validation of AutoCRAT therapeutics for OA.

Prof. Dr Ingrid Meulenbelt (Department of Biomedical Data Science, section Molecular Epidemiology, leading the Osteoarthritis Research Group) leads the LUMC Team in AutoCRAT with Dr Yolande F. M. Ramos (Assistant Professor with the Osteoarthritis Research Group) and Dr Luis J. Cruz (Assistant Professor, Group Leader Translational Nanobiomaterials and Imaging (TNI) at the Department of Radiology).
